Deconstructing a song

One main exercise I did with my guitar and music teacher was to deconstruct a song I already liked and putting it together to Geta. better idea of the format. Since me and Bess met daily, I’ve had small homework assignments to do each day on top of writing by myself. We share a google drive document where all my homework is located.

Rehab:

Chorus: Try to make me go to rehab – she uses the title, repetition, catchy

Verse: I’d rather be at home with Ray  – specifics

Pre-Chorus: didn’t’ get a lot in class – builds into the chorus

Verse 2: The man said why do you think you here

Pre Chorus 2: He said I just think you’re depressed

This is just an excerpt of a small exercise I did which as easy as it is, taught me a lot about formatting and made me understand what makes a verse a verse etc.
