This week has gone a little better. I’ve mainly focused on revisions of my early pieces. I have found that I need to be in an editing mindset rather than a creative mindset when I make a second draft. I also noticed that it is really difficult starting editing because I am very self critical and I hate rereading things that I have written. But once I have started reading and editing things start to flow much easier. I have also begun to jot down thoughts and ideas in my notebooks. I think that typing out stories is actually much easier than completely writing them down by hand. It makes editing much easier. Also I have noticed that I will edit when I am transcribing and that is not something I always want to be doing. Sometimes I just want the raw first draft, completely unedited.
