1. Have in hand two things:

***a full-length appropriate-level biography (NOT autobiography) on your teacher-approved chosen Civil Rights leader

***another source on this Civil Rights leader (a book he/she wrote, a link to a video clip of one of her/his speeches, a comprehensive website–not Wikipedia, an article about her/him, etc.)

2. Pack for D.C. using the packing list we gave to you and to your parents!

Due Friday, May 9

1. Choose Civil Rights leader based on your interest and ability to get a biography book on her/his life by Monday, May 12.

2. Sign due dates handout AND get a parent/guardian signature.

Due Thursday, May 8

1. Finish reading the Meltzer article called “The Designing Narrator” and answer questions in bullet form on the sheet.

Due Wednesday, May 7

1. Read and lightly annotate the four excerpts from biographies. Here is the cover sheet explaining what to look for while reading.

1. Read FDR Chapters 9 and 10 (pages 149-175) and answer the questions on the handout.

1. Read FDR Chapter 8 (pages 127-147) and fill in timeline according to instructions on handout.

1. Read FDR Chapter 7 and answer 10 (only 10!) of the 18 questions on the handout. Use a separate sheet of paper and include specific examples from the text, as usual!
