You need to turn in the Math packet on Monday with all of the corrections and completed sections that we have been working on. Do the rest of page 38 (read the story) and complete the questions on page 39 for Monday. You can look up some of the words in the back of your textbook (hard book) if you need to find some of the vocabulary.

Your rough drafts of both sentence structures should be corrected and put into the proper final draft form tomorrow by the end of the class. You all received the versions to correct today for the second set of sentences.

Bring the pictures and your boxes no later than Thursday so that you can put the final project together. It is due by the END of class on Thursday of this week.

F6 and L6:

Rough draft of the skit is due at the very beginning of class tomorrow. No printing out or finishing at all, because I need to see them and get them back to you so you can finish the final draft during class and then practice.

Bring materials to make your props as well. See the blog from Friday, October 23 (le 23 octobre) for all of the details.

Now that the Unit Test is done, it is time to work on your project! You will write and act out a skit taking place in either a restaurant or a cafe.

The rough draft must be turned in no later than Tuesday at the very beginning of class for both groups (L6 and F6). If you are going to memorize it for extra credit you must turn it in by Monday morning so that I can get it back to you by the end of the day.

Alessandro and Kai: You are expected to use vocabulary from the Grand Cahier (French is Fun) for your part in the skit, no mater who your partners are. You will each write a separate page talking about a party that you are planning to have that you are describing to the people that you are eating with. This is in addition to the participation in the skit itself. This  will be incorporated into the skit.

You need to include: the date of the party, a description of where it will be in at least 3 sentences, what the occasion is, and the menu. You will be expected to use a least 10 vocabulary items from the Grand Cahier. See me or email me with questions.

Everyone will do the following:

You will write a rough draft, turn it in, correct it, make props, memorize it (for extra credit) and present it next Wednesday, October 28.

In your skit, you must demonstrate your understanding of the following: (You will be assessed on the written component, the actual organization of the presentation, and the pronunciation. No translators should be used and I can tell, by the way!)

1. Weather (asking about and answering: question and 3 answers);

2. Seasons: all four;

3. Days of the week and months of the year (ALL);

4. How to order in a restaurant: Formal AND informal: 4 foods and 4 drinks;

5. Questions and responses of the waitperson;

6. Asking about the cost of both masculine and feminine items (using IL/ELLE);

7. Asking about the final bill’s cost;

8. Answering this question correctly;

9. How to ask about and answer about when your birthday is;

10. How to greet each other and say good-bye.

The skit can be in whatever order that you want as long as it makes sense. You need two customers and one waitperson.

See me with any questions. This counts as much as the Unit Test. Do your BEST and have fun with it!
