Welcome to Sarah’s Eighth Grade Core Homework Blog!

The first two days of school were great. Way to impress your teacher! I am looking forward to next week and beyond. In the meantime, please enjoy your weekend.

I would like my blog to state up front that I do not like the word “blog.” It reminds me of Jabba the Hut. Jabba the Blog.

Due Monday, September 8:

1. Write your own “Theme For English B” poem about you and your identity. Minimum 12 lines. If you imitate Langston Hughes or lift lines from his poem, be sure to give him credit at the end, as I did in my sample poem.

2. Bring in your Warriors book and writing, if you have not done so already.

3. If you have the 2 classics you read, bring them in too. If you don’t that is okay.

Due Tuesday, September 9:

Have your parent/guardian read the “Core Expectations” packet and sign that they have done so.
