Cities

This is a Europe city

  • There is a space between the village part and the castle part. There are trees and on the outside of the wall there are hills and trees and grass. You need stone for building and dirt so the people have a place to plant things. You can tell the roofs are made of brick slits and the buildings are made of black materials. There is a wall and there is a second wall were the more powerful people probably live.
  • The city is on top of a large hill. At the top of the hill is were a second wall is and there are not as many houses.Well I think that this may be a sort of knew because there are no rally big cathedrals of any sort and all the buildings are about the same size.

This is Middle East city There is a small little garden by the wall but I do not see much green other wise. The city again is in nature. The little garden looks like it is needed. The city is only white stone and a bit of green is needed.  You need stone to make the houses and the wall you need trees to plant stuff in. All the houses are made of the same thing it looks like. It looks like there are different types of building and not just houses. The wall douse not look as strong and there are large towers. everything looks like it is made by the same thing. And there is a large castle looking thing at the top left of the city.

  • How do the natural features impact the design of a city:
  • What natural features might be desirable for designing a city:
  • What natural features might be less desirable for building a city:
  • What can the use of different types of building materials tell you about the purpose and function of different parts of the city?
  • What are the various functional parts of the city (i.e., what does a city need to be a city?)?
  • How does the design of the city reflect the different levels of status of its inhabitants?
  • How might the design of a city tell you something about the values and beliefs of the people who live in the city?
