My Name: Florence

My Story: My name is Vladimir and I am from Usolye-Sibirskoye in Russia. I am 16 years old and on my travels looking for an apprenticeship I came across this guild. Although growing up I was into being a doctor, my father was always was a stonemason, but about a month through my journey he died. I thought it would be wrong if I didn’t become a stonemason. Although it wasn’t my first I fell in love it once I saw the stone, and the hammer, and the fire. I am interested in blacksmithing and geometry.

(In the space below, describe the story of how you came to the guild and your specific area of work focus):

My Job: Blacksmithing, and geometry

(In the space below, describe the specific kind of work that you do)
I am a blacksmith and blacksmith’s are important because . . .
they sharpen tools. These tools are important because when people were working eventually there tools dulled. When they got dulled they would bring them to the blacksmith. The blacksmith would also create those tools by taking metal rods heating them up and then molding with a hammer. If they weren’t sharpened than the wall wouldn’t be built as fast.  (you only sharpen them? Who makes them then? How are they made?  Check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gu46zGuOqk at 25:25 minutes)
I also am the person who makes the dimensions for the castle. The way I would do this is I would have my friend Reinhardt make me a model of the castle. After that I would write the dimensions, if those dimensions were messed up then the castle would not be built correctly.
(add your response here)

(Add a couple of pictures that show the kind of work you do)

To do this work, I use the following kinds of tools: Hammer, Fire, Pencil, Paper, Wood and metal rod

(describe the tools and include few images of them)

Some other related and interesting facts about building cities, castles, churches and/or mosques that I plan to share with visitors to our guild:

There isn’t a lot of room in medieval mosques, castles are in the shape of the cross, the castle protected the town, there were stonemasons and there are stone carvers. black smiths were technically part of stonemasonry.

(add 5-10 key ideas or learnings)

When visitors visit me in the guild this is what I plan to do doing as a way to show them about my work:
I  will need a couple of dull tools, a couple sharp tools and a hammer, with a flat surface and a fire with metal rods on it. I would demonstrate making tools and sharpening them. I would than draw out a picture of a castle and show them how the dimensions were decided.  This sounds like a lot of work. Will you actually be able to make these models? If not, what might be your plan?

(describe your shoppe and what you’ll be doing)

In order to do this, I’ll need to create the following materials: a fake metal rod, red and orange paper, a flat surface, a hammer, a pencil, a dull tool and a sharp tool, and paper.

(materials list and plan for creating my “props.” You may want to include some images that you can use for inspiration.)

For my costume, I plan to . . .
use a big piece of cloth and than put on a belt. and then put on tights and trim the cloth.
