Example:
I think that I had a really good year in art class. I am proud of a lot of the projects we did. First of all, I really love my recycled-materials house because I think I used the materials in a creative way. For example, I had soda can chairs. Second, I am proud of my Romeo and Juliet Illustration because I blended the colors together really nicely. A challenge I had this year was coming up with ideas. I would start a project, but be unable to come up with an idea that I was satisfied with. However, throughout the year I improved. I am much better now than I was in the beginning of the year. I grew a lot as an artist this year. I loved that we worked with a huge variety of materials. We worked with paint, recycled materials clay, colored pencils, cray-pas, charcoal, and printmaking in foam. I got good at using each one. A skill I learned this year was shading. In our observation paintings, I paid attention to where the light hit the object and where the shadow fell. I learned how to use the complimentary color for the shaded area. I feel very comfortable with my progress this year. I would love to continue working with acrylic paint. I feel ready for 8th grade art. I put a lot of work and effort into this year. Overall, I feel that I stayed focused and have achieved a lot.
