1) Re-read the prologue to Montana 1948 and write a found poem using the prologue as your inspiration.  You can lift words, phrases and lines.  You may also add words of your own.  The poem should be at least 10 lines long, but I am sure that once you get started you’ll find that it is fun to do this and you may end up with more!

Writing Workshop Update:

Tomorrow in Writer’s Workshop we will spend a substantial amount of time writing and sharing your personal narratives.  You should come to class tomorrow with a clear idea of what event you would like to write about.  Be prepared to begin writing in class.  No excuses! The final piece of writing will be due (after drafting and editing) before winter break.

1) For Writer’s Workshop: Bring in the packet of personal narratives written by students from past classes (i.e. “Lemonade Stand”, “Subway Musings”, One Last Time”).  Re-read and re-familiarize yourself with the stories.  Complete the questions on the first page about your personal reactions to the narratives.  Be prepared to share your personal reactions and begin to think about a topic for your own personal narrative.

1. Make sure you have your writer’s notebook in school!

2. Read the packet “Nonfiction” with three pieces by former students and fill out the sheet on top according to the directions. Bring this with you to writer’s workshop.

Ongoing:  start drafting your article or script for your Leaky Faucet Simulation. Due date is Wednesday, 12/3.

We start a new unit next week - restock pencils, colored pens, notebook if necessary.

1. Estudien la formación del Presente Perfecto en la p. 84 y hagan los ej. 119 y 120.  Luego estudien la p. 86 (arriba) y hagan los ej. 123 y 124/ Study the formation of the Present Perfect on p. 84 and do ex. 119, 120; then look at the top of p.86 (the Past Perfect) and do ex. 123-124
