Tuesday, November 25

Due Wednesday: Last homework before break! Woo Hoo!

Draw / color a picture of how you envision the two snakes (one pointing north and one south)  from today’s quote in class.  Write the quote on the top of the page.  Then, answer the important question below in a short but very meaningful and honest way. Put your answer somewhere on your page (it could be on the bottom or in the borders) Be creative!

“Two snakes full of poison.  One lying with his head pointing north and the other lying with his head pointing south.  Their names was slavery and freedom.  The snake called slavery lay with his head pointing south and the snake called freedom lay with his head pointed north. Both bit the nig–r and they was both bad.”  -Patsy Michener

Big Question:What is a lasting impression or big idea will you take with you from our study of slavery, the Civil War and of Abraham Lincoln?

le 21 novembre

You will be starting your clothing project this weekend! The final project will include a detailed writing assignment that includes both the present and future proche tenses. Adjectives and clothing items will comprise the vocabulary section. There will also be a visual component. As I explained to you in class, you will be working on two goals that you will present on Monday.     1. Come up with an imaginary event that you will be attending , such as a movie premiere, a big party, a day cruise, or another creative idea that interests you.     2. You are to pick out an outfit, or a few outfits, that you will need to buy for this event! You need to find some French shopping websites and research clothing styles and prices that actually are online to purchase. Example: Les Galeries Lafayettes, Au Printemps, and Au Bon Marche are all stores in Paris. You can search for them on the internet. You can also go to Fashion Houses that are French, such as Dior. Look at the prices (you will have a budget!) and find the addresses of the stores where you want to shop. Print out pictures of the items that interest you, although you do not need to buy them yet. You will be able to keep looking. The outfits need to be complete (shoes, shirts, pants or skirts, socks, etc.)Have fun and Happy Shopping!
