CONGRATULATIONS ON AN AMAZING YEAR!!!!!!!  

Monday, June 16th, is the 8th grade trip to the beach, and the last day before Moving Up!

Please remember to bring a lunch and drink, bathingsuit, towel, hat, sunglasses, sunblock and any sports equipment (including basketballs as there are courts there next to the wild beach roses).   We also recommend a sweatshirt in case of chilly breezes and anything else one might want at the beach (ipod, walkman, etc).

It’s going to be a great outing, followed by the dance that night.

Tomorrow is your last Friday of Middle School! Holy moly.

1. Bring in your signed dance permission slips. Deadline is tomorrow!

2. Dress for the High School’s graduation: no jeans, shorts or Tshirts, and preferably no sneakers.

The Day’s Schedule:

The morning will be as usual. After recess, will will have a short Middle School meeting (FAMILY FEUD!) and then go to NYU for the graduation.  When we return, those reading speeches at the Potluck or the Moving Up Ceremony will stay after for a short rehearsal.  The potluck is here and begins at 6 pm!

Due Wednesday, June 11

1. Final version of bio sketch (double spaced, 12 point font, 3-4 pages, bibliography in proper format) with ALL pre-writing and drafts attached due at 8:20!  BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR 4 sources at the end in the “Works Referenced” section.

2. Be ready to morph into your person in Core class! This is your LAST major assignment of 8th grade Core! Who hooo!!

3. Find all school and LREI library books and bring them in!

Moving Up:

If you are giving a speech at the ceremony, you must have a finalized draft turned in to me at 8:20 and be someone who is not presenting something else. Anyone can speak at the potluck and you also must have a revised speech done by 8:20!

2. Speech givers: make the edits and bring in an updated version Tuesday morning. If you do not, you will not speak at Moving Up!

Final version of bio sketch will ALL drafts attached. Be ready to morph into your person for a panel where you will answer questions as your subject!

1. Empezamos la parte escrita del examen final/ we began the written part of the final exam

TAREA:

1. SC8:  El examen es para mañana, al final de la clase/ exam due at the end of class TUES.
2. LM8: El examen es para la final clase el jueves/ exam is due on THURS.
3. SC8 y LM8:  Los cuentos nos. 29 y 30 son para el jueves/ stories #29 & 30 due THURS.

1) There will be a radical operation quiz on Tuesday.  It will be just like the last page on the last test.  Hopefully you’ve practiced.

2) In Shapes of Algebra unit book: ACE question #4 on page 78 and graph the following inequalities: #8a and 8d on page 79.

Start looking for your Math On Call books.  I will collect them next week.
