Homework due Monday, 3/3: Research turbines and type a one page explanation as to how and why they are used. Find a practical use for turbines and explain how they get their energy (input) and explain how they output energy.

Questions to consider and think about:

Is the output energy greater then the input?

What type of energy source is used as the input? Chemical or physical?

Is the turbine used to generate electricity?

Where are turbines found in our daily lives?

What are some of the different types of turbines?

Extra Credit: Explain what we did in class to an adult and have them email me to let me know you have had a meaningful discussion about turbines. Build a turbine at home and place it above a heater or above the stove when you are cooking! Be Careful with heat sources.
