– Read trying to experience the story
– Choose a part that matters and copy the beginning if it into your reading response section in your learning log
– Step into the story and envision it. Fill in details, sounds, actions, thoughts and feelings
NOTICING A DETAIL OTHERS MAY PASS BY
Be a wide-awake reader. Notice and copy down a detail from the reading that others might just pass by. Put a post-it there. Then write some thoughts about what you notice. Use the prompts to guide your thinking. Write from your point of view, not the character’s.
