Finish Problem 3.1 if you didn’t finish it in class.

Do the next 8 multipliation problems on the back of the graph paper you used for the first 8.  Use the same procedure for these (see the last post if you don’t remember).

Do the first 8 multiplication problems from the sheet handed out in class today.

Remember:

  • Round & estimate first
  • One digit per box
  • Check your answer with the answers on the sheet.  If the answer is wrong, do it over.
  • You can use either of the multiplication methods we have reviewed in class.  Check your notes if you don’t remember them.  Use the method that is most comfortable for you.

Make flashcards on either notecards or pieces of paper that you cut out (fold an unlined piece of paper 4 times and then unfold and cut along the creases.)

Using page 27 on your textbook (hard book) make fifteen cards. There are 15 bolded words/expressions in the yellow section. Write the word/expression on one side and an illustration on the other side to indicate the meaning.

You were given an example in class today. If you do not understand how to do this, come to see me at IWP!

WEEK: Nov/10 — Nov/14

[WS5] HW Due: Tuesday, Nov/18

  • Draw a diagram that illustrates how you would construct the pyramid by coming up with a system capable of moving the pyramid blocks up to each level.
    • You should use one or several of the simple machines learned to accomplish this task.
    • Make sure to label your diagrams.
    • The diagrams don’t have to be perfect or what you end up using at the end.  However, you should put some thought on how to move each heavy block up to each level.
  • If you work on it with your partner you can have one diagram for both of you or you can each have one and talk about it when you get to school.
