9.29.8

(Due Wednesday)
Make a graph and a story for a trip of your own. It should be only about 20 meters and/or 20 seconds long. Remember that your points should be placed every 2 seconds, or it will be harder to keep track of your paces.

Use the sheet I handed out in class or print it from this link.

As a reminder, the paces are:

1 meter / 2 seconds = slow walk
2 meters / 2 seconds = walk
3 meters / 2 seconds = fast walk
4 meters / 2 seconds = jog
5-7 meters / 2 seconds = run

9.26.8

Use the graph on Trips Worksheet 3 to make a table (time vs. distance) of this trip.  Remember that the time goes up by 2 seconds.

After you have made the table (with a ruler) on the back of the sheet, write the story of the trip.  You can write notes on the graph to help you get started.  The story of the trip, though, should be in complete sentences.  Feel free to get creative.  Think about which paces there are and how long the trip is.

9.24.8

Due Friday:

Trips WS # 1:
Use the table to make “beanbag” marks on the track. Then write a story that matches that motion. The story should be written in sentences, not in note form. Be creative! The story can be about anyone or anything as long as the motion is correct. Remember that the whole story is only about 30 seconds long, so your story should also only be about a 30 second period.

Share your table, your beanbag track and your story with an adult at home!
