Cut out shapes and put them in either an envelope from home or one of your plastic sleeves.

You don’t need to cut exactly on the lines. Leave a small border around each shape. We’ll use them tomorrow

We talked about techniques for finding certain landmark percents today.  The strategies are below:

100% - the number itself

50% - divide by 2

25% - divide by 4

10% - divide by 10 (move the decimal point one space to the left)

1% - divide by 100 (move the decimal point two spaces to the left)

We used these in combination with each other to get percents such as 11%, 26% and 150%

For homework, your worksheet asks you to find the following four percents.  Show all your work neatly and completely.

1)    26% of 500

2)    85% of 240

3)    19% of 160

4)    240% of 36
