Initiative Learning Habit #2

Over the last 2 weeks I showed Initiative by raising my hand more and trying harder to join in on the discussion. By thinking about it more I actually raised my hand and talked more in class. One problem that I’m having is taking advantage of work time at home. Sometimes I might have reading HW or an ongoing project that I need to work on and instead of using spare time to work on it, I decide to be lazy and do something else. To get better at this I will try to check connect more to remind myself of HW and to encourage myself to do it.

Art Eye Drawing

In this art project, we were assigned to draw an eye using 2H HB B 2B 4B and 6B pencils and blending stumps. We took a picture, printed it out and used it as a reference for our drawing. I am proud of my work and the different shades and how I incorporated them into my drawing. If I were to change anything I would make some of the different shades blend more and not be a line. I would make the aye darker and the eyelashes more noticeable.

Poem Tatsuya

Smak!

The pigeon hits the window.

Oh Boy, I wish I was pigeon,

Flying around, until I hit a window.

Or a train,

Or a car

Living a happy long life

Of 5 years

And I have diseases

Nevermind, I don’t want to be a pigeon

Oh boy! I want to be a rat

Rats are so cool

They get to do whatever they want!

What fun!

Squish!

The rat was hit by a car.

Oh…

The Train Ride

Everything is silent except the soft “put” “put” of the falling rain,

In the corner of the cabin sits a man with sadness on his face,

He’s holding something black, he looks at it quietly,

He turns his head to his arm, where a ticking watch sits,

“BAAAAAAM!!!”

His gun opens fire, five go down,

He’s screaming instructions but everyone’s too shocked to hear,

“BAAAAAAM!!!”

Another five fall to the ground,

The door on the other side of the cabin swings open,

Two officers enter,

“BAAAAAAM!!!”

only to be shot down by the blazing gun,

The train speeds up and we all lurch forward,

The man falls to the ground, his gun flies out of his hand,

It slides across the floor until it reaches the door,

A woman jumps up and grabs the gun, pointing it towards the dark figure,

There is pain in her eyes as she thinks over what she’s going do,

The man gets up and charges at the women, her gun aimed at his head

Fear flashes across the woman’s face as the man gets closer,

10 feet,

5 feet,

In the final moments before the man reaches the woman,

her face, shows understanding,

“BAAAAAANG!!!”

Granny

I’m granny JoeJoe

Runnin from the Po Po (police)

Playin wit my Yo Yo

‘til I gotta Go Go!

All I did was rob a bank!

How’d I know they have a tank?

Now I’m runnin. Who’s to thank?

My stupid mind that just went blank!

That’s it

Superman

Superman

It’s a bird!!!

It’s a plane!!!

Oh, it’s just Superman.

Flying through the air

Like everyone else!

Leaping from building to building,

Pfft LAME!

Laser beams shooting out of his eyes

Great more property damage!

Superman, more like Loserman

How to wrestle behind your daughters back – Dalil (Tatsuya)

Hello I am Dalil a 1980 nomad from Pakistan, here is another how to guide, this time on how to win wrestling matches behind your daughters back. If you’re a wrestler, you probably don’t want your daughter to know about it. Since I have experience with this, I thought I would make this guide to teach you about my tricks. First off you have to actually be good at wrestling, otherwise you’ll get bruises that will give away your little secret. So let’s say you are good  at wrestling and you win most of your matches, then what you want to do is keep your daughter away from where you wrestle. To do this what you do is give her chores that take a lot of brainpower and energy. This will keep her distracted while you wrestle. Remember to give yourself enough time to get changed and get water. Another good tip is to schedule your matches very late as to have your daughter in bed and not able to see you. If she does find out and you notice, try and pretend you don’t know this might make her unsure about what she saw. That is it for today’s guide, I am Dalil thanks!

How to stop a camel brawl – Dalil (Tatsuya)

If you’re like me, a nomad living in Pakistan 1890 with camels and a family, you’ll know that sometimes camels fight. This is a short guide on how to stop camel brawls, should they occur. If you’re not familiar with camel brawls, they usually go about like this… First one camel will challenge the dominant male, they will usually roar signalling the start of the duel. Of course, you don’t want there to be brawl because both camels might die. What you want to do is beat at both camels with sticks or other objects to distract them from each other. Make sure to do this early because if you’re too late they will be obsessed with trying to kill each other. After whacking the camels try and push your stick in between their mouths to stop them from further wounds. Eventually the challenger will back off happy to be alive. Beware, for the other camel will now realize his wounds, he will then turn to you, the one who inflicted them. Since you can’t beat a camel you have to run away, try throwing something at his face to distract him. This will give you enough time to run to safety. I have been in this situation before and this strategy almost always works. Eventually the camels will cool off.

Thank you for reading this short guide on how to stop camel brawls I’ll be back next week with another intriguing how to guide.

Immune system

Our system helps the body stay healthy and not get sick. Without the immune system we would get sick all the time. One thing that we found is that the immune system is made up of 2 parts, the adaptive part and the fighter part. The adaptive part of the system remembers each virus so next time you won’t get sick from it. However, this is only with some sicknesses. An example of a time where this is not true is with strep throat. The second thing that we found is that there are things that could make your immune system weaker like taking drugs or eating unhealthy food.  We want to find out what kind of activities or foods make your immune system stronger?

Spring Break Reflection

One thing that I found about myself, is that the views of people from different experiences or generations are very interesting. This came up because my dad was talking about politics with my Grandfather who would relate to past events that he had lived through. It is very interesting to learn about what older generations have to say about certain things that are happening now. Since they have been alive for much longer, they might have had experiences that affect their view on a subject. I found that I could have long discussions with my grandfather about current events because of this. It is also interesting to talk to younger children in my family because they haven’t been alive for as long, and have less experience. I want to try and find out what type of events would change someones views if they lived through that event. I would also like to find out why a certain experience would put you in a totally different stand point.
