Map Art Post

for our map art project, first we had to think of the most complex and amazing idea for our project. Then we had to think of something even more complex. All of these ideas had to involve an NYC subway map. In the end I decided to cut silhouettes of different things around the city that mattered to me. Then to black out the parts of the city that I don’t know very well with spray paint.

As I worked through this idea I discovered that if I boosted the silhouettes with a little foam board then they would look even cooler. At this point I am at the part of the process where I will glue the silhouettes on the foam board then I will black out the parts of the map that I don’t need to use

Here is a photo of the piece so far:

My Illuminated Leter

The reason I am posting about my illuminated letter is because I feel that it really shows my best work because I spent a lot of time on it and even stayed after school for an hour to finish it. Also I feel that (not to brag) it looks really good compared to some of my other work. One thing that I could have done better with this would be to have kept the paper clean. Here is a photo of it.
