Episode 1 – CAPTAINS, with James Samuels

 

In the first episode of “The Untold Part of Basketball,” I speak with my former coach and mentor, James Samuels. The episode covers a range of topics, from his career in college basketball to playing on a professional team to his growth as a coach and what he wants to instill in his middle school players.

Episode 2 – If you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late. If you’re late, you’re forgotten. With Arjay Perovic

In the second episode of “The Untold Part of Basketball,” Arjay Perovic, my high school and AAU coach, discusses his introduction to the game of basketball and how he led his team, The City, to winning a national AAU championship. He has coached basketball stars such as Donovan Mitchell and Eric Paschall and hopes to coach in the NBA one day.

Episode 3 – @pfisher where’s my ball!, with Henry Boone

In the third episode of “The Untold Part of Basketball,” my teammate and friend Henry Boone talks about his career. Henry started playing basketball during the summer before 8th grade and since then, has fallen in love with the game. He won MVP during his sophomore and junior years of highschool. Unfortunately, he did not have a chance to win the award again as his senior season was cancelled due to COVID-19. Now, he hopes to ingrain his legacy at LREI through a 1k points ball in the trophy case at Thompson Athletic Center.

In the fourth episode of “The Untold Part of Basketball,” My middle school teammate and friend Joshua Ball, talks about his career in middle school at VCS and the transition to a much more athletics focused high school, Léman. In the interview, we follow his journey from his high school tryout all the way to his championship game.

Episode 5 – Overseas, with Daniel Laffitte

In the fifth episode of “The Untold Part of Basketball,” I speak with my friend and Italian basketball player, Daniel Laffitte. We discuss his unique experience winning the MVP trophy overseas in Italy and his transition to attending high school in New York. He plans to play in college in California before going back to Italy, following in his father’s footsteps.

On this special episode of “The Untold Part of Basketball,” I give thanks to everyone who helped me through this extraordinary process and talk about what I have taken away from it. This episode gives the listener a conclusion to the podcast and hopefully, many new perspectives to consider on the game of basketball.
