5/16/2021

Computers 4 People got a table at Main Street Pops, a popup shot events in Hoboken. I met Dylan at 10:00 and went over and set up with him and Collen. The event started at 11 and Sonya came to help us out. We talked to a lot of people and gave them cards with our website so they could donate computers. We also received a few small cash donations. I met the Mayor and another Councilman of Hoboken and we took pictures at the stand. The event ended at 4:00 so we packed up and took our stuff back to the office than went home.

5/12/2021

Got into the office today a little later than usual, Dylan did a drop off with Collen at Workforce advantage for 15 laptops which went well. We got some mail and worked to refurbish and bag more laptops that will be donated soon, Sacha came and helped us with this. Later in the day we went to the e-recycling facility to drop-off keyboards that do not work than walked all the way across Hoboken to the Amazing Truth Society where we were invited to an award ceremony.

5/11/2021

Today I walked to 5th Ave and 19th street to meet Dylan at an office space that had monitors and computers to donate. We went up together and brought a lot of monitors computers and wires down in the freight elevator. We brought everything back to Hoboken in Dylan’s moms car and moved it into the office. A new volunteer from Stevens university came and inventoried the monitors and the computers. I worked on some CR stuff and communicated with a senior center who had applied for computers.

Today the CDBG grant application was due so we worked hard to finish it up and edit it before 4pm. We had to finish developing a solid schedule and finish the budget and budget narrative, but we got it all done in time. We worked on putting Windows 10 on some laptops as well.

We came into the office and worked on grants and emailed people about hotspots. We had a meeting later in the day with a person who has done grant writing. Micah came to volunteer and we all worked on fixing laptops.

We edited and submitted the Elevate Grant for this competition that MIT is holding. Sacha came over and we cleaned up and refurbished a bunch of laptops. Dylan and I mostly cleaned and installed Windows on the machines while Sacha took the broken ones apart to get the parts. I continued editing the CDBG and we started putting together a budget and looked at examples of budget narratives.

5/4/2021

Today we came into the office around the same time and worked on the usual grants and stuff. We got a grant application back from our bank which said they can pay for some computers and parts and will pay for the shipping. It kind of sucks because we were asking for a lot more money to pay for employee salary. We got lunch than scheduled drop-offs. We had 3 drop-offs to do and Collen drove us to each one it took like 5 hours.

Today we came into the office after a 9 AM meeting with grant writer and 9:30 cohort meeting. We worked on grants until Sacha came and helped refurbish some laptops and Chromebook. The fire alarm went off and we had to leave the building for a while but everything was ok. I scheduled hotspot drop offs for tomorrow.

Today Dylan and I worked from home because we were tired from a crazy week. We both did grant work.

Today we didn’t come into the office till later in the day. Zajac and I had a meeting with Sally about the grant I am writing. I have to do a lot of revisions and Dylan has to reach out to a lot of people to get important information and letters of recommendation for the grant. The grant is from the Hoboken government and it is for a large amount of money. After the meeting I worked on the application for a while than came into the office around 3:20 to help Dylan and Micah (a volunteer) get ready for a drop-off of 14 desktops for Easterseals Seniors. I stayed at the office with Micah and worked more on the grant while he refurbished 5 laptops. I left around 5:30
