HOOT/Carl Hiaasen BOOK REViEW

I read the book Hoot by Carl Hiaasen.  In the book the main characters are Roy, Beatris and Beatris’s step brother.  The story takes place in Coconut Cove, Florida.  Even though the story takes place in Coconut cove Roy was originally from Montana.  One morning Roy sees a running boy with out shoes.  That  is how Roy’s adventure starts.  My favorite  part of the book is when a construction site gets vandalized and they don’t know who did it.  I recommend this book for third grade through adults, I rate this book three in a half stars.

Pish Posh, by Ellen Potter

In Pish Posh by Ellen Potter, the main character Clara is 11 years old, rich, and a bit of a snob. After going to her parent’s restaurant Pish Posh, she goes to her apartment which has so many rooms in it, for example: the roller-coaster room, the beach room, the Brooklyn village room, the tree climbing room, and many more. She went in the tree climbing room. In that room there is a big tree in the room imported from Australia. The tree is so big that there is a special ceiling for the tree. While Clara is climbing the tree, she hears police outside her building and a voice asks Clara if she could come into Clara’s apartement. Clara lets the mysterious girl in and her name is Annabelle. It turns out she is a thief. I really enjoyed this book because it is full of mystery.

My favorite part of the book was when Clara went to Annabelle’s house and Annabelle says, “You still think SpyFocals are fancy walkie-talkies?” I like that part because it’s funny.

I would recommend this book to people who like mysteries because there are a lot of surprises. I would also recommend this book to people who like friendship stories because Clara and Annabelle stick together. Lastly, I would recommend this book to people who like action because a lot of exciting things happen.

I would give this book 5 stars!

The Million Dollar Shot

The book that I read was called the Million dollar shot  by Dan Gutman .On a scale of 1 to 5 I would give it a 3 because it took him a long time to get to the main point. But when he did it was great.I recommend  this book to people who like sports a lot .The main characters name is Eddie Ball and he is great at shooting a basketballs. All of his life changes when he sends a poem and to finkle foods and he gets the chance to shoot and if he gets the ball in the net he gets a million dollars .The book takes place in the present. Can he do it? The book was pretty good.

The Name of This Book is Secret By Pseudonymous Bosch

Very Surprising Book

I recently read a book called “The Name Of This Book Is Secret.” by Pseudonymous Bosch. My rating is five stars!  Normally, every chapter I read, I am gasping because something really surprising just happened in the book. In the book, the two main characters find a magician’s house and everything goes wrong. If you like books that are very surprising, than this book is the book for you. This book is for people who like reading about VERY surprising things, like someone being evil instead of good, or something happening that you know but the good characters do not. The book also has lots of secret codes. The codes are the type of codes where there are scrambled letters or something like that. The characters are very wacky, one named Cass who is training to be a survivalist and who keeps weird things in her backpack and the other character named Max-Ernest who talks so much, you can barely hear what he is saying. This book has an ending that is not the way you think it would end. I can not tell you anything else, the only way to find out more information is to read the book yourself.

Take Two By Julia DeVillers & Jennifer Roy

Take Two is the second book after Trading Faces.

In  Trading Faces Emma and Payton got in big trouble at home and at school, which means detention. Emma (the brainy one) feels like she shouldn’t be in detention, but lucky her and  Payton (the stylish one)  get out of it. But they just get a different type of detention.

Emma has to tutor math-hating eight year old boy Mason. Payton has to keep an eye on Mason’s twin brother Jason and help the drama club with the school play. Instead of being in the play like she wanted to she has to work under the stage.

This book is very easy and fourth grade level. It’s a realistic fiction book. If you like books that you can kind of relate to this is a good book for you. I would give this book 4 **** because it very fun to read>It’s a fun book with  lots of surprises along the way!

Through all of the mistakes you will wonder if they can stay best friends. When they find their powers how will they survive? Most of all you will wonder if maybe there was no mistake and they were supposed  to be in those schools.

The Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck, by Jeff Kinney

My book is about Greg Heffley, the main character, who is mad that his best friend Rowley, has a girlfriend and he does not have a girlfriend.

It doesn’t say how old he is but he is in middle school. The book mostly takes place either at Greg’s house or at his school.

Greg talks about his life this school year and his troubles throughout the year like he gets new shoes but he steps in dog poop when he is waring his new shoes.

In the middle of the year he is so desperate that he wants to become friends with his enemy. But his friend leaves him and hangs out with another group of people.

I really liked this book and I would recommend it to you if you like to read about someones school year and life at home but with funny parts to. I would rate it 5 stars and I would definitely read it again.
