This book is about a gorilla named Ivan who lives at the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade. Ivan lived in the jungle with his mom dad and his sister Tag. He liked living in the jungle with his family until people came to take Ivan and Tag away, and Tag tried to escape and that was when she got killed and his parents got killed trying to save Ivan, then Ivan got shipped to the mall. Ivan is a nice gorilla and dose not really like how this big billboard in the parking lot has Ivan looking all scary, and Ivan is really a nice guy. Ivan has friends who live at the mall with him, he has a friend named Stella the elephant, Bob the stray dog, and Julia a girl who comes to the mall a lot because her father George works at the mall. Ivan loves art especially painting and Julia loves art too so every time when Julia comes to the mall she has art supplies that she gives Ivan. Ivan likes the mall but starts to miss the jungle. He sometimes also misses his family, but he does have a stuffed gorilla toy named Not Tag. Later on Ivan loves the mall, but later on the book changes start happening, and it is up to Ivan to make those changes better for everyone and especially someone new who joins Ivan and the gang. I would give this book 5 stars because this book has lots of interesting obstacles that Ivan has to face witch make me fell like i am in the book and what makes this book more interesting is that this book was based on a real gorilla who lived in the mall. I would recommend this book to someone who loves animal books and likes poems and because this book has a lot of descriptive and poetic words.

The book I read over the weekend is called Frogged, and the author of Frogged is named Vivian Vande Velde. The main character, Igmone, Princess Igmone. Igmone lives in a castle with her mother, father and her younger brother. Her mother told Igmone to read a book called “The Art Of Being A Princess,” before her thirteenth birthday, so she can be a real polite princess.
Igmone goes to one of her favorite places of the courtyard. Igmone meets a frog prince by the pond. The frog prince is really a poor boy who lives on the streets, The boy Igmone left food for, who she felt bad for. But he is just not very nice person. Igmone thought she was just helping him but Igmone, herself got turned into a frog in the boys place. Later on, Igmone met some teenagers in a barn. They’re names are Lulla and Bertie. Lulla, an farmer.Bertie, an actor. Lulla and Bertie capture Igmone and She goes on an adventure with Lulla and Bertie.
If you read this book you will find out what happens out later in this book.I rate Frogged **** four stars. Frogged is funny and surprising and I hope you think so too!

This book is about a triceratops that hatched out of a hen’s egg. It is also the only living dinosaur in the world. A boy named Nate Twitchel and his friend go on a quest to save this dinosaur. The main characters are Nate, a paleontologist, a dinosaur,and Nate’s family, which is his dad, his mom, and his sister. The book takes place on a farm in Freedom, New Hampshire. My favorite part was when the egg hatched. The dinosaur was so cute as a baby! I really, really enjoyed this book and I would recommend this book to people who like action and times where you think “ wow! This is interesting, but I wonder what will happen next?” I would most definitely rate this book 5 stars. It is really good.
Survivors A Hidden Enemy By Erin Hunter
My book is about a dog named Lucky. He is a Golden Retriever who is confident and brave and never gives up. This book takes place in the woods, with lots of trees and rivers where lots of humans don’t live, and only wild dogs live there. Lucky leads a pack of more dogs that are trying to survive in the woods. The pack has to travel around the woods and look for new shelter every day. This book has a lot of adventure in it and animals in it. this book also has a lot of description in it and makes you feel like your in the book. I like this book because it has animal in it and lots of poetic words in it and it makes me understand the book better. Lucky also has a really good friend named Sweet an Italian Greyhound. Sweet is also really adventures and always keeps everybody going. I would recommend this book to somebody who likes animals and adventure, I would rate this book 5 stars because the poetic words were really good and the chapters were not to short or not to long.
Outcast Of Redwall By Brian Jacques
Recently, I read a book called Outcast Of Redwall by Brian Jacques. It was a really goofy book, and I liked it because it is full of action. Also, it is told from the perspective of animals, who live in “ Mossflower Woods.” At Redwall, a ferret babe is brought up by the young mousemaid, Bryony. She raises him, and loved him, but he committed a terrible act! When he is caught, he is named the Outcast Of Redwall, because they made him an outcast. It turns out that this young ferret happens to be the abandoned son of the warlord, Swartt Sixclaw. Swartt has six claws on his left forepaw, hence the name Sixclaw. His abandoned and forgotten son Veil, has inherited the sixclaw from his father, the warlord. I would totally rate this book five stars because I like how everyone has their own distinguishing characteristic. I would recommend this book to people who like animal perspective and action, because there is plenty of that in Outcast Of Redwall.
The Tiger Rising, By Kate DiCamillo
This is a very good book for someone who likes a mix a nature and non-fiction. The book is about a boy named Robert ‘Rob’ Horton who is around 11 years old. His mother is dead (died from cancer) and finds a tiger in the woods behind the ‘The Kentucky star Motel’ In Florida. The tiger really cheers him up along the way. He meets two ‘bus bullies’ named Norton Threemonger and Billy Threemonger. On one of the bus rides to school he sees and meets a very independent girl named Sistine Bailey. She hates Florida and wants to leave. She stands out with her clothing and attitude. She fights first in fights, gets hurt and doesn’t care.
Rob’s dream came true and then his real journey begins.
Two big events are that he finds the tiger and he finds Sistine’s missing pieces to the puzzle.
I would give this book 3 *** because it doesn’t have a lot of suspense. There are parts where you want to just put the book down. 
The Enormous Egg, By Oliver Butterworth
The main character of this book is Nathan (Nate) Twitchell, he lives in Freedom, NH. He has a lot of chickens/hens, and one day one of his hens lays an enormous egg. It turns out that it’s a dinosaur egg! He hatches and grows big so they take him to Washington D.C and a senator makes a bill for the dino to go. Who will get the bill, Senator Granderson or Nate?
I enjoyed this book because it keeps you on your toes waiting for the next thing to happen.
I would recommend this book to people who like dinosaurs and who like being on their toes. At one point of the book someone asks if he can turn the dinosaur into a suitcase. I would give this book 3 stars (***) because I’m not the biggest dino-fan.
The Mouse and the Motorcycle, by Beverley Cleary
The Mouse and the Motorcycle is about a charming mouse named Ralph who lives in a hotel and a little boy named Keith who become friends over a toy motorcycle in the hotel in California. This peaceful story, toward the end transforms into an exciting adventure. an exciting part of the book is when Keith gives Ralph motorcycle. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes silly stories about friends who are an animal and a human. I liked this book and I hope you do too. I give this story five stars.
Because of Winn-Dixie,By Kate DiCamillo
I really enjoyed this book! The main characters are the dog, (Winn-Dixie) and India Opal (the girl who is telling the story). The setting is Naomi,Florida. The girl doesn’t have a mother and is very hard for her. I can connect because I have always wanted a dog and I got one. In the book she finds Winn-Dixie and her father lets her keep him! Her father is a preacher. Over the book she finds friends so she isn’t lonely anymore. I would give this 4 stars out of 5.
HOOT/Carl Hiaasen BOOK REViEW
I read the book Hoot by Carl Hiaasen. In the book the main characters are Roy, Beatris and Beatris’s step brother. The story takes place in Coconut Cove, Florida. Even though the story takes place in Coconut cove Roy was originally from Montana. One morning Roy sees a running boy with out shoes. That is how Roy’s adventure starts. My favorite part of the book is when a construction site gets vandalized and they don’t know who did it. I recommend this book for third grade through adults, I rate this book three in a half stars.
