Week 6 post 1

I culminated my senior project experience with the creation of my mother’s birthday cake. The cake captured many different aspects of my project in one dish. I used foraged lemongrass to add a hint of lemon to the cake batter. I then used lemon rind in the frosting to secure the lemony flavor in the cake. I also used locally made liquor in the batter for flavor.

This dish was very important to me because of the emotional significance and the way it brought joy to my mother and brought our family together.
