Sophie R – Update#6

This week I watched a really great documentary that discussed the dietary and health patterns in communities of color. It covered topics such as the importance of food in culture, stereotypes about dietary choices, institutional racism in the food system, access to food, etc. It’s called The Invisible Vegan and I definitely think it’s a really good resource and recommend it.

The Food Empowerment Project seeks to create a more just and sustainable world by recognizing the power of one’s food choices. They encourage healthy food choices that reflect a more compassionate society by spotlighting the abuse of animals on farms, the depletion of natural resources, unfair working conditions for produce workers, and the unavailability of healthy foods in low-income areas.
