It seems the deeper I delve into my senior project. The more I feel I don’t know. The book started with more basic and unadvanced ideas yet as I get deeper into it the ideas rapidly progress, making what I previously thought seem extremely basic. An example of this would be me researching particle accelerators. One of the main plot points of the book revolves around the protagonist leading a particle accelerator project. I thought I understood the concept pretty well, but when I watched a video on them, I realized how little I knew about them. When I learned more about them, elements of the book made more sense and I realized how complex it really was. This topic is important to me because I think these ideas are really interesting when talking about the advancement of society, or questions about how our universe is structured. I am bringing an understanding of Astronomy and a brief understanding of the cultural revolution. As both these topics are topics I could study for years and still not fully understand, I’m learning a lot of new stuff about them pretty much through every aspect of my project. I think my question has a bit of significance in this day and age. Most art and books to come out of the cultural revolution are physical depictions of the brutality, or personal memoirs, like the ones I hope to read after the trilogy. However, I feel my essential question is really interesting as it covers how sci-fye something not really recognized as being influenced by Chinese Communism is. I think I need to explore every area more to fully understand my book, moreover, I feel I need to learn more about some of the physics brought up in the book.
